TRAMPOFOIL
The Trampofoil
is a human powered hydrofoil. It flys through the water on a nine
foot wing. It is propelled by hopping up and down like a pogo stick.
This causes the foil to oscillate up and down in the water like
a birds wing. The effort required is about the same as jogging.
It travels at 7 to 9 knots. enter

HOW
TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE
Since many people are
alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be
in order. Without help, the person whose heart stops beating
properly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds
left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help
themselves by coughing peatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath
should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and
prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
Deep breaths and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds
without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to
be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs
and coughing movements squeeze
the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure
on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart
attack victims can get to a hospital.

America's
Cup Jubilee
On the Prada 12-Metre
course, starting line collisions in two classes forced the withdrawal
of four boats, including Intrepid, the last of the wooden Twelves,
which successfully defended the America's Cup in 1967 and 1970.
No one was hurt in either collision.
In the Modern 12-Metre
Class, Intrepid steered by John Curtin collided head on with Enterprise,
steered by J. F. Jouffray, causing extensive damage to the bows
of both boats. Intrepid was the port tack boat and was required
to steer clear of Enterprise.
Verve
Cup 2001 Chicago.
Did you hear about the Bowman on the 40.7 that was knocked out by
the spin pole (damn hot-box people). She was hit by the pole, turned
to face the stern and said to her crew mate "your here to take
over the bow right?" then went out like a light until the paramedics
brought her to on shore. She was taken by ambulance to North Western
Hospital, but here's the kicker, she was back the next day racing
and working the bow. When asked why she came back the very next
day to race her response was "It's my bow, that's what I do".
Bow people are in a league of their own. I wish you must success
