A Chicago man drowned in Lake Michigan after falling overboard in rough water during a Chicago Yacht Club regatta Sunday, police said.
Michael Eggly, 31, of the 1300 block of North Wells Street, was taking part in a race about 3 miles east of Navy Pier when he either slipped or was knocked overboard, said Sgt. Neil Skipper of the Chicago Police Department's marine unit. Rest of story...

In the Modern 12-Metre Class, Intrepid steered by John Curtin collided head on with Enterprise, steered by J. F. Jouffray, causing extensive damage to the bows of both boats. Intrepid was the port tack boat and was required to steer clear of Enterprise.
