SEA~TV PRODUCES NEW DVD SET
ON THE YACHT RACING RULES
New Haven, CT: New Haven Connecticut based SEA-TV Productions has just
released a unique set of DVDs designed to teach the international yacht
racing rules. The two hour DVD set is titled “Learn the Racing Rules
with David Dellenbaugh." SEA-TV makes the complex sailboat racing rules
easy to understand, by combining computer graphics, animation, on-water
sailing demonstrations and actual racing footage along with one of the
world’s top yacht racing rules experts.
Rules expert, David Dellenbaugh is the on-screen host and narrator of
the production titled, Learn the Racing Rules. He is an internationally
recognized rules expert and chairman of the US Sailing Rules Committee.
Dellenbaugh was the tactician and starting helmsman on America3 during
her successful defense of the America's Cup in 1992 and sailed in two
other America's Cup campaigns. He also holds numerous national and
international racing titles and was director of marketing for North
Sails. He currently publishes his own newsletter for hardcore racers
titled Speed and Smarts.
“Learn the Racing Rules" is an excellent application of the power of
video to instruct and illuminate a complex subject,” says SEA~TV
executive producer, Chip Croft. Yacht racing is a very kinetic and
complicated sport and the rules are very difficult to understand from
reading them in the rules book. By using the power of digital video
production software such as animation, computer graphics, slow motion,
and stop motion, we are able to make the rules readily understandable.
This makes it easier for youth and entry level racers to participate in
the sport and helps experienced racers to win more races.”
“We also have some great racing action footage to illustrate many of
the rules,” adds Croft. We specialize in shooting on the water and
captured some great footage of Etchells and Lasers in some pretty
exciting conditions.”
"Learn the Racing Rules" is sold as a set of two 60 minute DVDs. Part
1 is titled Basic Right of Way Rules and Part 2 is titled Rules at
Marks & Obstructions. The set two DVD set will sell for $59.95. they
